Terri Laverrier
I grew up in Biddeford. I always enjoyed sewing ever since my grandmother purchased my first Singer sewing machine. I was in junior high at age 12. Since then I couldn't keep my foot off the pedal. I have been primarily self taught, with direction from my grandmothers. I have taken many classes along the way to enhance my techniques.
I enjoy knitting, cross stitching--but quilting is my first love Along the years I made clothes for the children and costumes for recitals. I made my first heirloom quilt when I was first married in 1980.I enjoyed this more, and continued to make them for children, nieces and nephews for graduation gifts, wedding gifts, baby shower gifts. With all these events, I picked new ideas. Always looking for something that will catch an eye.
I love to teach other students to quilt and to show them how simple it can be and doesn't always have to be complicated. I have taught Adult ED. classed at the Biddeford High School for a number of years- that now I have my followers.
I live in Lyman with my husband of 28(soon 29yrs)- he was my Jr high sweetheart. And with my Jack Russell (Daphney) We Love to be outdoors walking, hiking, cross country skiing. This is my second Love.
we have 2 children -- 1 Daughter married and lives in New Hampshire 1 Son married and lives in Maine currently we have 3 beautiful grandchildren.

Kathy Angel Lee
Kathy Lee’s passion and avocation has been sewing since she was twelve years old. Her vocation was in education where she recently retired as the Curriculum Coordinator for the Old Orchard Beach School Department. Up until a few years ago, her main focus has been clothing ----- sewing for her daughters and herself.
In the late 1980s, Kathy was hooked on the quilting “bug” and has been working primarily in that area for several years. Kathy enjoys experimenting with a wide range of fabrics and techniques in both traditional and non-traditional ways. Her special interests, at this point in time, are appliqué, landscape design, fabric manipulation, and creating her own painted/dyed fabric.
Kathy is a member of the Evergreen chapter and Art Quilts Maine chapter of the Pine Tree Quilters Guild. She is also a member of Maine Women in the Arts, Art Guild of Kennebunk and the Saco Bay Artists Association.
Her wearable art and art quilts have been juried into state and national shows and she has art quilts hanging in each of the schools in Old Orchard Beach and in private collections. She also has been published in Quilt of America: Stories of Americans and Quilts , Carole J. Gariepy, 2002 and Creative Quilting, The Journal Quilt Project, International Quilt Association, fall 2006
Kathy lives in Old Orchard Beach with her husband, Tom.

Judy Simpson
Judy began sewing as a child under the guidance of her mother. She made most of her own clothing – everything from bathing suits to winter coats. Over the years, she has taken many classes to improve her skills and techniques. She taught sewing classes at Oak Hill Adult Ed in the late 70’s.
She was introduced to hand quilting in the early 80’s and became a member of the Pine Tree Quilter’s Guild. The quilt group she belonged to made one quilt a year to donate to a local charitable cause.
Working with fiber of all kinds has been both a hobby and business. From 1987 – 1991 she and her business partner designed and published machine knit patterns for women, men, and children. They traveled coast to coast as ‘JJ Designs’ modeling their original knits and selling their patterns at seminars targeted to machine knitters.
The purchase of a computerized sewing and embroidery machine a few years ago rekindled her passion for sewing. She is always eager to learn new techniques and to share with others her knowledge of sewing, quilting, and machine embroidery. Her embroidery work has been published in Creative Machine Embroidery Magazine.
Judy lives in South Portland; she works full-time for L.L. Bean and is a volunteer for Mercy Hospital, sewing chemo hats for the oncology department. She has one daughter, Jen who lives in Northampton, Massachusetts with her husband, Kris.

Karen Eggert
I have been sewing since middle school and have done custom sewing, design work and quilting for fun as well as professionally. Currently I do design work for Casco Bay Wool Works, a small Portland company that produces wool and cashmere capes. I also teach Portland Adult Education quilting classes and do volunteer work for the nonprofit SPIRAL Arts.
One of the biggest joys in my life is to see others enjoy any part of their creative and artistic side.
I am married and have one son. I live in Portland. I am a member of the Cobblestone chapter of the Maine Quilt Guild.

Joan Ayers
Sewing has been Joan's passion since early adulthood. For years she made her husband's shirts, her 3 children's clothing and her own clothes. Crafts have been a major interest all her life, including embroidery, needlepoint, crewel. She had a small business making pine cone decorations which sold in gift shops and florists for a number of years.
She discovered long arm quilting several years ago and has been totally absorbed in it since. She constantly studies new ideas in this wonderful thread-art. Presently she teaches new long arm owners how to maintain and use their machines and has her own quilting business doing the long arming for people who bring their pieced tops, batting and batting to finish. She loves the excitement of sharing her passion for quilting in both finishing someone's vision for their quilt as well as teaching others how to execute their own ideas on fabric.
She volunteers quilting services for Quilts of Valor and others who are doing donation quilts as well as volunteering for Beacon Hospice in South Portland.
Saco is her home and she is a member of both the Cobblestone and Casco Bay chapters of the Maine Quilt Guild.
